Regina K. wins statewide art competition

The Catholic Daughters of America, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapter, awarded rising senior Regina K. with a cash prize and entry to their national competition in their annual education contest.
Regina's photo entry won first prize at the state level.
The theme for this year's contest was "The Lord has done great things for us, we are filled with Joy" OR "finding Joy in my life". Regina submitted a photograph captured in Washington DC beside a fountain, of a young woman with her child looking into the water and feeding ducks.

Regina explained her composition: " I thought this moment was a perfect submission to the contest because it caught a brief yet such joyful moment in a person's life. And I think it is a great example of how people can find such joy in everyday things, especially the simple things God has given us."
Regina is a founding member of PC's National Art Honor Society. Her photography has been displayed in several regional shows and contests this year, including the PFAC Prefaces Art Show and the Student Show at Dragonfly Gallery and Studio in Norfolk.
